I took Drew’s senior photos last weekend. Can you tell we’re brothers?

The band I play with, Cartesian Theater, just released a demo called Wooden Door which is now available for download here. I created this artwork for the song. I just used one of the frames I’ve been making to compose the beach photo (The song references a door leading to a beach. Fitting right?). The photo is a random shot I took at sunrise on Myrtle Beach last summer. Yet again, another great example for why you should always keep a bunch of stock images on hand. You’ll never know when you’ll need them.

Now if I were to spend more time on it, there are a few things I can see in hindsight that I’d fix. I’d make each letter in “Door” align perfectly bellow each letter in “Wooden”, and I’d make the frame width be the same size on the top and bottom as the left and right side. The resizing of the frame would’ve taken a considerable amount of time since (as far as I know) you cannot resize a specific space on a frame from the inside. I most likely would have had to rebuild the frame entirely.
I may start trying to do a series of photos with different versions of these frames. I feel they’re a quickly fleeting trend, these minimalist translucent shapes over photos. So I might as well get a few made before it’s all said and done! Hopefully more to come…

Had a blast photographing the Redman and Cucaita family in Alexandria last weekend. Here are just a few photos from last week.

Another early sunrise photo shoot by the tracks in Old Town Manassas. Do you still need senior pictures? Don’t pay for the standard ones. Be creative and have more fun here!

Here’s a quick preview of Derek and Kristen’s wedding. Check it out! The photos are in no particular order.
